The ground-breaking Centre for Doctoral Training in Energy Storage and its Applications at the Universities of Sheffield and Southampton opened in October 2014, funded by the EPSRC, to tackle industrial challenges and develop new technologies and skills that will enable the UK to meet its low carbon targets.

4th Annual Conference in Energy Storage & Its Applications

Our 4th Annual Conference, in 2019, will be held at the Boldrewood Innovation Campus at the University of Southampton on 9th and 10th July. We again expect to hold two days of industrial and research presentations on all aspects of energy storage. Sessions will include;

  • Transportation & EVs

  • Heat & Seasonal Storage

  • Battery Design and Pack Management

  • Electrochemistry & Materials for storage

  • Energy Systems & Modelling Storage

  • Mechanical and Kinetic Storage

  • Socio Politico Economic Aspects of Storage

We welcome PGRs to apply to the conference as it is designed to be an opportuity to create impact, with proceedings will be published online as open access via Elsevier’s Energy Procedia.

To apply for a poster or presentation please submit an abstract here by 26th April.

We are offering a Scholarship Scheme for authors - there are five UK Scholarships (worth up to £250 each) and five International Scholarships (worth up to £750 each) to apply to. Scholarships can be used to cover travel and accommodation costs, and are paid in lieu of an expenses claim. To apply for a scholarship, please see our abstract submission form.

  • Students £50 + VAT

  • Academics/Industry £150 + VAT

  • Conference Dinner £35 + VAT

  • Exhibitor stand (tabletop) £250 + VAT
