On Day 3 it was time to join the Energy Storage Ireland conference that was being held in Dublin. The event was very well attended with hundreds of industry and academic representatives in attendance, giving the oppurtunity for excellent networking and discussion.
One of the most interesting aspects of attending this conference was the exposure to a completley seperate energy network, with many of the presentations focusing on either operational or policy charecteristics of the Irish electricity grid. This granted us a different perspective to view our work in a new light.
After a good day of presentations and networking it was time for the conference dinner, where one of our number was able to secure a contact which has now led to a job offer, showing the effectiveness of these outreach visits in progressing careers and knowledge exchange!
